LaCrosse Alphaburly Pro Boots for Women

14 11 2015

lacrosse logoI have worn LaCrosse boots for many, many years. They were the first rubber boots I introduced my kids to, and eventually, my grandchildren too! The Alphaburly Pro boots that have been in our family for ten years or so, got  a make over and a face lift in 2013.

The Alphaburly Pro has been redesigned with a more personalized fit for women and guaranteed comfort. They are now constructed with a more natural rubber compound, making this boot is much more flexible and easier to get on and off. The fleece lining of the past has been replaced with an embossed neoprene liner that allows for air circulation, which helps to keep your legs and feet feeling dryer, cooler, and more comfortable. The many sizes of women’s calf have been kept in mind with the adjustable neoprene gusset, which now fits a wider variety of legs. These boots continue to be scent-free, and the insulating neoprene makes for a very comfortable and lightweight boot. The boots come in a 15′ height, and weigh in at four pounds. These boots are temperature rated for 60 degrees down to -20. The Realtree Xtra Green Pattern will work great with most of your hunting seasons.

I opted to wear the Alphaburly Pro boots on a recent winter skeet shoot with Ladies in Camo. Even though I was traipsing through snow that was almost 16″ high and temperatures that hovered near 20 degrees, I was dry and comfortable all day. The boots are so comfortable, that I continued to wear them long after we were done shooting and all winter long.

On the other end of the weather spectrum, I wore the Alphaburly Pro boots in Southern Alabama on a Ladies in Camo Hog Hunt. Conditions were very hot, and of course we were traipsing through swamps and rivers, all the areas that the wild hogs frequent. The temperatures were higher than the rated 60 degrees, but by wearing cotton socks, my feet still stayed comfortable all day long. These boots were able to go from shooting boxes to tree stands, extreme cold to hot, with no problems, and always I knew that my footwear was scent-free.

Both the youth line and the adult line of Venom are made with protection in mind. They are waterproof and scent-free, by use of the Dry-Core barrier, which not only prevents water from getting into the boot, but helps transfer moisture away from your foot. They are lightweight, flexible and rugged enough to keep up with your hunting adventures. Snake protection is provided by the 360º Snake Guard which is 12″ high on the youth model and a full 18″ high on the adult version. The reinforced abrasion resistant toe cap protects the boot while you are trail blazing. The boots are also attractive looking, with camo trimmed with leather.

While scouting for turkey, Sarah and I both wore our Venom boots. Traction was not an issue, with the multi-directional low profile lugs. We hiked through the dead leaves of last fall, and the newer downed limbs from the prolonged winter, all great snake habitat. We often had to cross small creeks or marshy areas, and our feet stayed dry and comfortable. Climbing the steep hills of western Pennsylvania was not problem, or at least not much of one.

The boots did great, but the hills are sometimes steeper then they look. While we did not encounter any snakes, of which I was quite happy, the boots performed wonderfully. The side zip is a great addition to these boots! You can leave the boot laces tied where it is comfortable, and simply unzip to take the boots off. Even better, when we get up in the morning, we don’t have to fuss with the laces, just quickly zip on and head out for our hunts! Other brands of snake boots I have owned have rubbed my ankles raw, and had no flexibility; they will now be going into the dumpster.

If you hunt in an area frequented by poisonous snakes, protect yourself and your youth hunter with the Venom Snake Boots from LaCrosse. The Youth Venom Boots come in sizes 1-6 and have a MSRP of $120.00, while the adult
