Contaminated water can ruin a trip of a lifetime quickly! Whether you are enjoying the outdoors or traveling abroad, water contaminated with bacteria and other pathogens, is often your only source to drink. I often travel to remote areas that the water quality is questionable. While I try to have bottled water available, that isn’t always feasible. The Frontier Emergency Filter is a very light weight straw type filtration system that weighs in at only one ounce. This uses the torturous path method of water filtration. The filter traps over 99.9% of the harmful Cryptosporidium, Giardia and other pathogens, including waterborne insect larvae and many bacteria such as E. coli. There are only 2 parts to this BPA Free filter; the simple 6” long plastic straw and a 4” filter that use activated Coconut Shell Carbon to reduce the water-borne contaminants and remove offensive odors and tastes. The filter is treated with Miraguard Antimicrobial Technology that suppresses the bacteria growth within the filter media, which could include algae and molds.
