When I am hunting, I want my equipment to do many jobs and to be as compact as possible while doing so. My flashlights are no different. Not only do I want a beam of light, ease of use, easy recharging, but I also want some survival abilities.

The Olympia RG850 Ultra Performance LED Flashlight manages to do five different jobs and only requires a cord to recharge. This multi-task flashlight allows you to walk into and out of your stand using only a low light, 20 lumens, search for a blood trail using the high, 850 lumens, or middle, 360 lumens, setting for greater viewing ability. At low light, the battery life is an impressive sixty-five hours! There is also a strobe light feature and SOS setting in case of an emergency. The flashlight has the ability to remember your last used setting that was used for more than three seconds once you turn it off. The charging unit is built into the flashlight, so all you need to pack in addition to the light is a simple micro USB cord. Charging of the RG850 is unique, in that you loosen the head of the flashlight to open the micro USB port, then use the supplied cable. The flashlight will achieve full charge in about eight hours. It was nice not to have to pack a separate, bulky charger amongst everything else needed on my hunts!

and medium light settings to get me safely into the tree stand and back to my designated pick up spot. I was hunting during the black bear rut, so I needed to be able to see around me and aware if I was being followed by an amorous bear boar. I was able to utilize the high beam while trying to help track a bear that had been shot just before dark. It was pouring down rain, and the pressure was on to find the bear before all traces of the trail were washed away. With the aid of the RG850, the trail was found; shortly after, we located the huge black bear.
